DHS says don't call us. Really.

The Department of Homeland Security has a reputation among journalists and other government officials for being hard to get a straight answer from. For instance, there was its highly publicized refusal, in the face of repeated attempts by reporters and state and local governments, to say one way or the other whether local authorities could opt out of an immigration program called Secure Communities

Now, Federal Times, a newspaper and website devoted to covering the workings of the federal government, reports that DHS won't even give it the work phone numbers and email addresses of its public affairs officers — the people it pays to deal with the press and the public. The only information it will give out is the number of the main public affairs switchboard.

The reason? In a response to a Freedom of Information request for public numbers and addresses, DHS said revealing the information — which would simply allow citizens and journalists to reach spokesmen for the government at their government offices — would be an invasion of privacy. Federal Times said DHS cited the provision of FOI law that is supposed to protect medical records.

This Scumbag gave up all rights to citizenship when he joined, and became an active memeber in an organization who's aim is to kill US citizens and destroy this great nation. He got what was coming to him, he new the what he was doing and accepted the risk. Maybe if his father taught him right from wrong he would've done some good for the world.

US citizens who are acused of terrorism against the US should be summoned back here to face trial. They should be given a limited time to return, following which their citizenship should be revoked. Then fire the missile. Feel beter now?

Totally agree. If you're going to claim due process under our laws then you must comply with those laws including particpating in the justice system by appearing to answer charges. Refusing to answer charges of subversion/sedition/treason should result in revocation of citizenship and classification as an enemy combatant.

"I want justice. And there's an old poster out West, I recall, that says, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive.' "

        George W. Bush

        September 17, 2001

I find it laughable that the right-wing in the U.S. started yelling to defend Osama Bin Laden after he was killed.  It was President George W. Bush who came right out and said, "dead or alive" in regards to Osama Bin Laden, and the GOP cheered.   I guess they couldn't handle the fact that Bush couldn't get the job done. Then again, with the Bush family being close friends with the Bin Laden family, I suppose that would have been terribly awkward at dinner parties.  You did WHAT to my son?!  That's also why Bush let the Bin Laden family fly out of the U.S. without being questioned immediately after the attacks on 9/11... while telling all other aircraft to remain grounded. hmmmm

The right-wing didn't want terrorists or those accused of terrorism to be tried on American soil, in a court of law. They threw a freakin' FIT about it, in fact, saying they didn't HAVE any rights, regardless of their citizenship. So I don't want to hear any crying over this terrorist from the anti-Obama crowd!  Idiot W. Bush set up the rules, and now you have to live with them.  Happy?!

Thank you for speaking the truth!

If this had happened under GW's watch, you would be singing his praises as a military genius. Now all of a sudden, you have a big problem with the same results being achieved by President Obama.

Double standards aside, I find it amazing just how far these flag-waving conservatives will go to demonize this Commander-in-Chief.

Congratulations, Mr. President! Job well done.

The suggestion that the right-wing wanted to defend Osama Bin Laden after he was killed is a load of old garbage. I keep up with multiple sources of news and I only recall one Republican even suggesting something like this, and he was the only one! I think very few Americans have any issue with a dead Osama Bin Laden

Bush has been gone for over two years, so, what is the excuse now?

Obama no more "found" Osama and brought him to justice than he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. Bin Laden was tracked for years via the combined efforts of the NSA, CIA and military intelligence and was eliminated by SOFOR. Obama just happened to be parking his butt in the Oval Office at the time, nothing more than an accident of timing. Your comments mark you as another libtard conspiracy theory nutjob.

These (DHS) people make a mockery of our Constitutional rights ... and appear to take their guidance from the Gestapo in Nazi Germany!

INVSASION OF PRIVACY!!!!!!!!!!! They obviously don't know what that is! They can't even begin to fathom. They're so vile.

The simple answer is, yes he should be fair game as long as he is on foreign soil. Really this shouldn't be debatable. However, some of the posts here are disturbing. Calling for people to be killed because someone has a differing opinion is not American. It reminds me of the wacko's who said if you are against the war you are against the troops. Debate is supposed to be the core of this country, and if it is not allowed you might as well throw out the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and start the whole damn thing over.

Maybe we should rethink our policy about letting mosques exist within the U.S. that teach hate to little kids. Just like the KKK except the white sheets have been twisted into towles for their little terrorist heads.

One of Obama's "change" promises was that the government was going to operate with more transparency.

                Why is that conveniently forgotten?
