It is time for States to begin seceding from this broken country. I can't wait and hope it is real soon so those of us that don't want to live in the" United Socialist States of Obama" can have a FREE country to live and work in.

Get ready to head to Europe and other countries just to get treatment...look at Canada!!! This is not hard, get off stupid and wise up to the fact that you are being taken for a ride! NO ONE should dictate health care like that! So you think his program is gonna be better than the insurance you have or don't have....think again! You don't take the program, you pay more taxes, you sign up and it does nothing for you! Wisen up to what is REALLY going on here!!!!!!!! We are becoming a socialist country! THANKS U JERKS! You obviously don't know many people that live in Europe or Canada. Some may have harsh words, but most that I've ever met think well of universal care and see the U.S. as an oddity for not providing healthcare for all that need it.

Also, you can't have a system of government other than a dictatorship or monarchy that isn't socialist in some respects regardless of whether they claim not to be or not.

I like how everyone blames Obama. Wake up!!! Would you rather have Georgie back? Maybe a year from now we'll have Romney to kick around. Blame Blame Blame. We're all good at that but I don't see anyone stepping up to the plate with a better idea.

I'm not saying PPACA is a sound policy, same as Chief Justice Roberts wrote. But what I do know is that the President only signed the law (and lobbied for it, of course). But the law passed the house and senate, and has now been deemed constitutional. This is a law passed by the Federal government, not one man, or one party. If people do not like it, then elect folks who will come up with something better, or at least repeal it. Better yet, run for office, campaign for someone who supports what you want done, or otherwise be involved. Whining about the death of America, blah blah blah, on this site sure won't change anything.

I can't believe in the dissent the Justices quoted Webster's Dictionary as a source for the word "regulate" supporting their position. These are the Chief Justices and the top of the legal chain in our government. Whatever the LEGAL meaning of regulate is through the usage of it in laws and existing precedents is what a legal decision should be based on and not the common non-legal usage of the word.

I respect their viewpoint and their dissent, but I see quoting a dictionary as far below their level and responsibilities and a real slap in the face to the rest of the Justice professionals. What's next? using Wikipedia? the Drudge report?

Mike-SCOTUS often use the dictionary in their opinions it's common place actually. How else would they define a word? They don't have a magic word finder they must rely on Webster just like the rest of us. Now if you want to discuss the content of their opinions-that is another story.

As a deeply concerned american It is very difficult for me to see My America whom my forefathers fought for and died an fled by the thousands to our shores for FREEDOM This pilgramidge has been shamed by the right of taxation without representation ( forcing individuals into something) and a mis-balenced economy, true I am not in total agreement we should pay for the care of those who are really NOT poor and can get anything just because of a few loopholes. I personally would like that knowledge.I guess I have been brought up with the idea that one must do something if one is to eat There is work out there.

This is the way it has been and lately has become more of a problem with Washington I point to Canada where everyone has medical coverage and does not cost citizens a thing, and Canada pays for it.

Although I am an American true and true I am Very ashamed

In France we have had UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE for 50 years !! It is the best program that a government can give to a society !!!

It is not communism, or socialism, it is GOOD COMMON SENSE and it works !!

If every body had supported a single plan, the bill would have been even better.. Your country would have saved billions in the long run.. But no, you are too stubborn !

Oh and by the way, in Europe we are CAPITALIST DEMOCRACIES ! All modern countries have UHC and you should too ! You have been dragging your feet for way too long. Millions have died because of your stubborness and paranoia !

Health care for all is a right, not a privilege ! READ ARTICLE 25 ! America has been in violation of that treaty that they signed with all other modern countries but what is the surprise ? They violated treaties with the natives, too.. so to put it simply, your politicians ripped you, off that right !

Republicans have violated your rights for way too long !! If a government does not do any good thing for the people, then why do you have a government for ???? It is the role of the government to create programs that benefit ALL.. for the well being the country.

With healthier people, comes happiness, lower poverty, and lower crime rates.

So it is at your advantage !

The BIG problem with many of these rants is SELFISHNESS and GREED, but most FAIL to SEE that they are presently paying the PREMIUM for those who are uninsured through HIGH INSURANCE PREMIUMS and TAXES.

Only a DIMWIT could not understand that if everyone has health insurance, the PREMIUM POOL is SIGNIFICANT and the cost per insured will level out and then decline. The other benefit is we will have a healthier population and a more productive society!

AGAIN THANK YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA and ADMINISTRATION, you saved the U S A & WORLD from the GREAT REPUBLICAN RECESSION of 2008 and now you are saving the well being of MILLIONS of AMERICANS, young and old!

It will be way less than what you are actually giving your insurance companies !!

I have a friend in the us, he pays 1200 PER MONTH for health care to cover his 2 daughters and his parents. To us europeens, it is an abomination !

If you had UHC his cost would be 200 per month for 4 people ! and with UHC there is no deductible, not in france at least.

Here's the thing NO ONE is recognizing on this commentary. The DOCTORS AND THE HOSPITALS ARE OVERCHARGING FOR THEIR SERVICE. Why does it cost $300 for an aspirin? When they fix this overcharging, we can start to afford health care. Until that happens, we are stuck with the high cost of insurance. Someone commented that if you don't qualify for Medicaid, you can pay for insurance. That is the stupidest statement. If you make ONE PENNY (not exaggerating) more than the qualifying amount, you are disqualified. That doesn't mean you can afford overpriced health insurance. I don't like paying for other people's insurance AND I don't like paying $300 for an aspirin. The whole system is SH**. The ONLY fix is to make these doctors and hospitals stop overcharging for care.

You know why we need a change to healthcare. I am still on Cobra from a previous job, but if I were to switch to an individual plan right now, it would not include maternity coverage. If I wanted maternity coverage, I would have to pay an extra $300-$400 a month but then there is a one year waiting period before maternity coverage would kick in. So, basically I would be paying for most of my coverage ahead of time and then they would turn around and extend it back to me which is really convuluted. Under Obamacare, maternity coverage would be seen as essential care, not just some annoyance.

Big corporations which have been given first amendment rights by the supreme court to make unlimited contributions to political candidates and elected officials, have saturated the media to make the American people believe that it’s bad for them to have the same health care benefits enjoyed by members of congress, supreme court, and the establishment. It just so happens big corporations and the establishment largely control which elected officials receive political contributions donated by big business under the guise of freedom of speech.

In other words, working men and women have been lead to believe that good health care for them is bad and that 34 million people should not have affordable health care.

Being a Canadian living in the US for the past two decades I don't necessarily have a problem with manditory health care and the general premise of Obamacare. What I do have a huge problem with is the Medical Insurance industry and the ridiculous bureaucracy involved. All that I know is when I was ill in Canada, I went to the Dr., showed my healthcare card, saw the physician and then did what he said I needed to do as far as getting better. No bills from insurance companies. No one I ever knew having to declare bankruptcy due to outrageous medical costs/bills. No such thing as pre-existing conditions. This is not to say everything was covered. If you wanted, for example, plastic surgery for vanity reasons, that was on your dime. Prescription costs were much lower than here as well. The system wasn't perfect, but no medical system will ever be perfect. But to not have to even think about whether you can "afford" health coverage. I guess it depends on whether you believe medical coverage is a right or a privilege.
