As a former Navy SEAL with SEAL Team 2 out of Little Creek Va. with 7 long tours to the Afghanistan/Pakistan border region there have been many threats directed towards us and we responded appropriately. SEAL's in most cases do not take prisoners and we took our work serious, very serious and I'm sure that we would respond to this threat in the same manner, no prisoners.

The secrets and concealment of a SEAL is no secret these days, you can go to Google and learn just about anything that you want, hell you can go to YouTube and watch what we did in Iraq/Afghanistan. Furthermore, you can Google Earth any location and hone-in on anything that you wish to look at, the air craft, fuel tanks, cargo, anything, so tell me ..... what's so damed secret?

When Clinton was CinC I had never seen such disrespect shown a President in my entire career. This was verbal and the service members didn't care at all who they said it in front of. This man has worked and trained harder than most people can fathom to achieve what he has to become a Navy Seal. He is an operator that doesn't think twice about the the range he faces on a routine basis. Now before you start the name calling again I am going to tell you where my comments come from. I spent 20 + years in the Navy. Not as a Seal, I wasn't able to get through all of the training and I freely admit that but I gave it all I had, I got a good taste of what these guys go through to earn the elite title of Navy Seal. To call anyone that has served in that capacity a traitor couldn't be farther from the truth. Although I don't agree with what he has done he is far from a traitor. People who serve or have served are tired of listening to Obama capitalize on the killing of Osama. Yes, he gave the okay from the comfort and safety of the White House while the best our country has to offer put their ass on the line, took the real risk and executed the mission without any grandstanding. The Iraqis were content being merchants, no secular violence and a relatively modern infrastructure. We left behind a bombed out power grid, water systems that don't function, and many disabled people.

His actual name was given, however, when Fox first made the report earlier today. The AP later confirmed that the identity given by Fox was correct.

Lucky for this SEAL dude that he lives in Alaska. It's rugged country there. Al Quaeda will have a hard time finding him there. They'll probably need to disguise a suicide bomber as a moose or reindeer to get him.

2. This Book was reviewed by the Legal Firm (Lawyers) normally retained by the US Military Asymmetric Warfare (aka Special Warfare) and Intelligence Community, and NOTHING Classified was found, names changed, no Classified US Military Asymmetric Warfare Tactics, etc..

The SEAL should be called a traitor if he is one. He did NOT submit his book for review as he should have. That's pretty close to the edge of being a traitor, since it was part of his oath, or agreement, (or whatever), that he should have submitted it. I don't understand what the big deal is about writing this book as long as it is True and the facts are right. Marcus Luttrell will talk to anyone who listen, Anyone. And a large part of the combat section of his story was not in his after After Action Report. He himself stated in his AAR that they were attached by 20-35 fighters but in some interviews he agrees with numbers exceeding 200 and the whole B.S. story about Lt. Murphy putting up killing the goat herders to a vote never happened and was also not in his AAR. I know in Texas they like things BIG but Parts of Luttrell's story are a WHOOPER. Lone Survivor opened my eyes as to how far a story can be stretched.

Unfortunately, as courts have ruled, that is not the case. News Organizations are under no legal obligation to provide you with any facts whatsoever.

You can look at nbc, fox, cnn, etc... in the same way, because once the precedent was set, any News Organization can legally use that court case in defense, should they ever be sued. However, Fox News is much more guilty in this case, seeing as how they're barred from Canada (which has a law against News Organizations lying).

Best source of valid information comes from outside the US. By far. But for the record, it is not illegal, so technically, Fox isn't breaking any laws. However, it should be illegal and ANY news agency should be subject to serious, serious consequences, if caught deliberately falsifying, or distorting the facts. They're there to be a trustworthy source of information, not to play on peoples emotions and keep everyone stupid and ignorant to what's really going on.

Give it a couple more days and Fox will be reporting that it was the Obama administration that leaked the soldiers name...

I registered Independent, my first presidential election, in 2008, because I wanted to be fair and balanced, and I have both Democrats and Republicans in my family, so I wanted to listen to both sides. In the last 3 1/2 years I've listened to Fox, MSNBC, CNN, I've watched the videos on Fox, came to the forums here and commented on stories, and just recently I've started visiting Real Clear Politics for information coming from both sides.

What I've found out..... Fox definately does lean towards Republicans, even though they try to sound somewhat balanced. They debate, and they are intelligent about it. NBC is decidedly Democratic, because they always provide four examples of Republicans who are wrong and only one Democrat who is wrong, on ANY issue; article they provide us. CNN I haven't visited a lot, so to be fair, although you hear they are biased Democrat, I can't comment on it.

My conclusion.... we all owe it to this country and ourselves, and our children to do the research of what is real and what is biased and not rely only on the media to form our opinions.

You can look at nbc, fox, cnn, etc... in the same way, because once the precedent was set, any News Organization can legally use that court case in defense, should they ever be sued. Best source of valid information comes from outside the US. By far. But for the record, it is not illegal, so technically, Fox isn't breaking any laws. However, it should be illegal and ANY news agency should be subject to serious, serious consequences, if caught deliberately falsifying, or distorting the facts. They're there to be a trustworthy source of information, not to play on peoples emotions and keep everyone stupid and ignorant to what's really going on.

I realize reading is really tough, and takes allot of effort. But you should try it more often. It makes you seem less like a pathological liar, and hypocrite. I stuck up for no news agency in the US, none. Yes, I pointed out that Fox set the precedent that News Agencies are under no legal obligation to provide you with facts and not distorting the truth. But that's the truth. Yes Akre was let go by Fox, but that's honestly not the important part here. What's important is that the courts ruled that it is legal for the news to lie and distort facts. As such, all news we get from inside the US, should at best, be taken with a grain of salt, and in the very least, we should be double and triple checking their claims.

Try to look past party affiliation once in your life, and realize some of our laws, are allowing people we should be able to trust, to lie straight to our faces, just to support their partisan affiliation. Fox, CNN, NBC, ABC, it doesn't matter who you name, they're all guilty of it.

Yet we will continue to bankrupt our country trying to kill these dolts that "no one fears anymore". Time for the corporations to invent a new enemy I guess.

About half of us officers from my MOS went to Panama for the three week Jubgle training school before going to Vietnam nad trust me it didn't teach any of us to be super bad killers. It just taught us how to survive by eating worms, snakes, monkeys and any other gross thing which didn't kill us and sustained us until we found our way out. You ain't no hero for going there for that.

Super bad soldiers are not taught per say as they have a ceratin mentality that allows them to do what others would not. They can be taught survival, underwater demo, halo, weapons and hand to hand but the rest is either in the person or it is not.
